Mixed Feelings with Microxp 0.82

After installing all my mobo and graphics drivers, I am stuck with a long booting time (~1min 30sec) which is possibly the longest time I have ever had for any XP distribution. Indeed, this is one of the most stable and smallest XP builds, specifically made for gaming, leeching, etc. One just has to make sure that he or she has the necessary drivers on hand.

Other than that, I think I will have to move to a different xp distro so I don’t have to wait a minute and a half every single time.

MicroXP 0.82 by eXperience is Awesome

The iso is just under 100mb and takes up only 205mb after install. This is the barebones of a fully functional XP. It strongly reminds me of “what if Win95 had the features of XP”. Frankly, I haven’t come across a single problem with this version now that LAN networking has been included within the release. However, I wished that the creator could have atleast included the east asian languages (korean, japanese, chinese), which would serve to be my one and only XP disc of all time. Since it does not include these language packs, I have to resort to my original XP disc for the languages.

Other than that, this OS is possibly the best out there for XP. No applications are included (not even WMP or IE) besides the default file manager and notepad. Basically all games should work on this platform and the loading times are the fastest that I’ve seen for ages.

For those who want to use custom visual styles (themes), one would need to run this app within the rar first. http://www.mediafire.com/?nm23gjbyjim
