MangaMeeya CE *Easy Hack*

This is purely an update from my last post on the MMCE version. For those who are purely agitated by the quick scrolling action of the arrow keys, I have a found a solution.

Open up the “MangaMeeyaCE.ini” file in wordpad (or notepad) and scroll down to section titled “[Scroll]” and replace the HorzDistance and VertDistance to 50 or less in contrast to 100, so that program does not immediately travel to the next unviewed section. Frankly, what it does is instead of traveling the full distance, the program will only travel half of that so the reader can read the rest of the word bubbles within the comic.

And for those who would like to view comics as their actual size without the program expanding the picture or or cropping itself to the original size of that picture, I suggest clicking on the “Scale(S)” dropdown menu and selecting Actual size.

Again, I strongly suggest to play around with the MMCE features before throwing this program away for the more traditional comic app (CDisplay unofficial, ComicRack, etc). Also, I would like to hear more comments from the readers about what features they liked or would like from this program and I will check to see if that feature was already included and how to do it. Aside from that, keep on reading comics, manga, graphic novels, etc.

For those who do not know or have this awesome image viewing progam, here is my other post on MMCE, containing my explanation of my supposed “fix” in the comments section.

MangaMeeya CE

MangaMeeya is a japanese program targeted towards manga readers on the computer. Due to its complexity and long list of features, japanese kids became confused with the program and the company had to shut it down due to lack of profits.

On the other hand, it is most likely superior to masses’ favorite image viewer, CDisplay. This is probably due to its extensive features and ability to read image archives within archives.

However, there were some problems when I tried the english version of this program from Silv’s blog. Frankly, the scroll function was completely broken (can’t scroll with mouse or keyboard). Also, the program kept viewing images from the bottom to top when absolutely nobody reads a book or comic that way. Therefore, I did some experimenting with the jap and english version of the MMCE and fixed them. On another note, do not ask me how I solved them for I am not some hardcore programmer who likes to complicate matters by discussing them.

Although I am a big fan of CDisplay (+5 yrs) for its simplicity and ease of reading, I am currently moving over to MangaMeeya CE simply because of its convenience and cleaner interface along with boosted performance. Also, it is the most versatile and robust image viewer that I have seen to date.

Features:
-New: Supports imbracted archives (archives within archives)
-Read Image albums ( Mangas, Comics, or any picture/photo album) in RAR (CBR) or ZIP (CBZ) formats, including password protected ZIP or RAR archives
-Read all common picture formats ( BMP, PNG, GIF, JPG), and can be used a standalone picture viewer
-No installation required
-Extract ZIP and RAR archives
